Add Elvuro to your home screen like an app
- Open Elvuro on the web in Safari.
- Tap the share icon (square with an arrow pointing up).
- Choose “Add to Home Screen” and tap “Add”.
Since iOS 16.4 this also works in other browsers via their share menu. Elvuro then opens from its own icon on your home screen.
There is no dedicated app for your device – Elvuro runs directly in your browser. You can find installation files for other devices under Downloads.

Installation blocked? How to allow “unknown apps”
Android only installs apps from outside the Play Store once you allow the app you open the APK with (e.g. Chrome or “Files”).
- If a message says that installing unknown apps is blocked: tap “Settings” there.
- Turn on “Allow from this source”.
- Go back and tap “Install”.
Manually: Settings → Apps → (your browser, e.g. Chrome) → “Install unknown apps” → allow. On Samsung: Settings → Apps → ⋮ → Special access → Install unknown apps. The names differ slightly between manufacturers; before Android 8 the option is called “Unknown sources” under Settings → Security.
Google Play Protect may also warn you because Elvuro does not come from the Play Store. Only install files you downloaded here – the SHA-256 checksum is shown in the download section. You can turn the permission off again after installing.
For security reasons, a website is not allowed to open downloaded files itself – that is why you start the installation by tapping the file.

What is Elvuro?

How do I download Elvuro for Windows?
As soon as the Windows file is available, the download starts with a click on “Download for Windows”. Until then, you can use Elvuro directly in your browser.
How do I install Elvuro on Android?
Open this page on your Android device and tap “Download for Android”. The APK file is saved to your downloads folder. Then open it – Android will ask whether you want to install Elvuro. Nothing is installed until you confirm.
If Android blocks the installation, allow the app you open the file with (e.g. Chrome or “Files”) to install unknown apps: Settings → Apps → (browser) → “Install unknown apps”.
Is Elvuro available for iPhone and iPad?
There is currently no app on the App Store. On iPhone and iPad you use Elvuro directly in Safari. With Share → “Add to Home Screen” you can put Elvuro on your home screen like an app. Android files (APK) cannot be installed on iOS.
Windows shows a warning when I open the file – is that normal?
Windows SmartScreen often shows a warning for programs that are new or not yet widely used. Only download Elvuro using the download buttons on this website.
Can I use Elvuro without downloading anything?
Yes. “Use Elvuro in your browser” opens the web version in a new tab. All you need is an account.
Which devices are supported?
The Windows app is being prepared. For Android there is an app (APK) to download. For iPhone and iPad there is currently no app on the App Store. The web version runs in current browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari and is designed for PC, laptop, tablet and smartphone.
Do I need an email address?
No. A username and password are enough for an account. When you register you get a recovery code – keep it safe so you can reset your password even without email.
Do voice and video calls work in the browser?
Yes. Allow access to your microphone or camera on your first call. Browsers only grant microphone and camera access over secure connections (HTTPS).
How do I create my own server?
Sign in and click the plus icon in the left sidebar. Choose a name – done. You can then set up channels, roles and invite links in the server settings.
Is Elvuro available in English?
This website is available in English and German – switch with DE / EN at the top. In the Elvuro app you can choose the language under Settings → Appearance → Language; the English translation of the app is still being completed, so some areas may still appear in German.
Where can I find the privacy policy and terms of use?
Under Privacy and Terms of use – both are also linked in the footer of every page. They are only available in German; only the German version is legally binding.
